Sixth Class

We have been very busy during the first term in

In October we visited Glór for a brilliant show by storyteller Niall De Búrca. We learned a lot about WWI from Niall’s dramatic performance. We also learned  about WWII as we had an extract from ‘Number the Stars’ in our English reader.

We have visited the library twice this term and are all reading lots of books. We are also writing book report. Well done to Erin Reidy Bond who has almost ten books read!

IMG_4047In September we learned all about 9/11  and the terrible events that happened in America that day, we made projects all about 9/11.

Catherine, our caretaker has been teaching us knitiing every Tuesday. We have made an Advent Calendar for our classroom and we are now knitting Christmas decoration for our Christmas Tree.

Swimming at the leisure centre has been great fun and everybody has made great progress.

During Science Week we participated in the Big Schools Science Quiz in St. Caimin’s Community School. We had seven teams in our class and we participated everyday.

We are learning all about the Maoris in New Zealand.

We have started on the Junior Achievement Programme ‘Our World’ with Barry Sheehan.

We are really looking forward to our Christmas Play and we have started some lovely Christmas songs.
